Pickett-Hamilton Fort
The former WWII airfield at Llandow, South Wales, has recently been earmarked for development, and many of the surviving wartime structures are likely to be destroyed. One such structure was the top half of a Pickett-Hamilton Fort.
I spoke to the owners who said I could have it.
On Monday 6th July I moved it to my back garden.
In mine, below each of the gun apertures are two metal rods protruding from the wall. I’m guessing these supported a gun mount.
